Perhaps the reviewer is saying the game is very much style over substance.
The average Joe consumer will usually go for Fashion/Fad > Price > Whatevers left.
Wii outselling everything else put together = Fashion/Fad.
360 now starting to increase sales = Price
PS3 would start to sell more than 360 this Gen with a lower price point for sure but there are a whole heap of business reasons why this,at the moment, might not be feasibile.
The Wii is just a crazy success story, ive been gaming for 25 years an...
They dont fall for hype,they dont beat round the bush - they tell it how they see it,and that is to be commended in these days of websites/mags etc rolling out 10's like theres no tomorrow.
I thought that Lost Odyysey had a beautiful ending.
Also Halo3's was very well done.
R-Type's was something else though - you had to fight through level after level of alien monsters and at the end of the game as the credits roll your joined by a load more of your friends in their spaceships - why didnt they help you!!!!
Still on the fence with this one.
Even if its a slight improvement over COD4 it will be worth picking up sometime right?
Is it just me or do other people think that because this update is so huge that once you turn on the console with the new dashboard it will be almost like having a new console again..........cant wait.
Fable 2 is a decent game but i believe Oblivion to be better and i also prefer Lost Odyssey to Fable 2.
Still a strong 4/5 for Fable 2 in my book though.
The voice acting is particularly good,and the combat is pretty sweet.

As long as the ease of navigation is nailed and theyve got the party system sorted then it will be a massive success im sure.

Considering the game was/is being overshadowed somewhat with the hype for Gears2,Resistance2 and COD5.
I really like the combat system - much better and more fluid than alot of other games out that have combat as its main focus!
FPS vs RTS - most gamers play FPS over RTS on a console so im guessing that even if Halo Wars turns out decent it will be overshadowed somewhat.
Then again if the brand name of 'Halo' can entice people into playing RTS's on a console then thats all good......
To continually say,in each review thread,that Gears has scored to highly and it only deserves a ? is sad.
Heres an idea - play the game yourself for a decent period of time and THEN tell us what you think the score should be.
Its like me saying today that Halo4 or FF13 should both be 5/10 just because.......
Sony lowering the price of the PS3 in a significant way and also pumping out quality exclusive RPG's will be the only way that the console sees a dramatic rise in its fortunes.
Nintendo have got Japan done up like a kipper and Microsoft are somewhere even they thought they'd never be....
Big decisions have to be made at Sony otherwise i very much doubt that the success of their previous monsters will be matched in anyway.
Overly protective/jealoous fans from both camps have got the scoring system wrong for everyone.
At the moment on these threads to a masjority of the ignorant;
1 - 8.9 = flop
9 - 9.5 = average/success
9.6 - 10 = AAA
I think its because reviewers now use a 7 as a standard for an average game that we have finally ended up here ^^^^^^

Hopefully they will have a really diverse range of titles out there - im sure some gems will be created.

A console that can do so much for this cheap a price is really a bargain.
Funny thing was 18 months ago i was having a conversation with a friend and telling him that when the new xbox is has just been released the 360 will be dirt cheap!
Looks like they are dirt cheap now without any sign of the new xbox on the horizon!
